Barrington Park / Campground

Barrington Park Campground ~ OPENING SOON!

Barrington Park Campground, in McIntosh County, is located on the banks of Harpers Lake - just off the Altamaha River near the historic Fort Barrington site (coordinates approximately 31.4717°N, 81.6068°W).

Named after nearby Fort Barrington, the park features flat terrain with a mix of wooded areas and open spaces, including an isolated oxbow lake that is a tributary of the Altamaha. It offers amenities such as a boat ramp, dock, picnic tables, restrooms, and camping spots, making it a popular spot for outdoor recreation like boating, fishing, and picnicking.

Barrington Park Campground has been recently renovated with completely new facilities, formalized campsites for both tents and RVs, a new fenced playground, and additional amenities. It provides access to the scenic river environment tied to the fort's historical significance. While the actual fort ruins are on private property nearby (part of a hunting and fishing club), the park serves as a public gateway to the area's natural and historical features.

Barrington Park & RV Campground has primitive tent sites and RV camping sites; including back-in and pull-through.  All RV sites have water, electric, fire ring, picnic table, and small concrete pad. Primitive sites have a fire ring and picnic table.  Free Wi-Fi Internet Service is available throughout the park. The park has security cameras mounted in several areas. Security gates will remain open throughout the daytime and will lock automatically in the evening.

We offer freshwater fishing, marina, camping, hiking, pavilion rentals, and more.
